After moving from South Africa, Dr. Johan Kritzinger spent most of his younger years in central Alberta, Canada. He attended the University of Calgary, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in science with a major in Psychology.
Immediately after completing his degree, Dr. Kritzinger was accepted into Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in California. While in dental school, he became heavily involved in volunteer activities, facilitating and providing dental services at free clinics in the community. He was part of a select group that organized these clinics for fellow student’s multiple times each week. Additionally, he visited Nicaragua several times with the Foundation for Worldwide Health, where he offered free dental services alongside local dental students at the University of Nicaragua.
Following dental school, Dr. Kritzinger remained in Southern California, spending four years in private practice as a general dentist providing a wide range of dental treatments. Recognizing his passion for endodontics, he decided to pursue specialty training. He was accepted into the 27-month post-graduate program in Endodontics at Loma Linda University, focusing exclusively on root canals and surgical endodontic procedures.
During his specialty training, Dr. Kritzinger conducted research on disinfection solutions used in endodontic procedures. His efforts earned him a Master of Science in Dentistry degree in addition to his specialty certificate in Endodontics.
After graduating from Loma Linda School of Dentistry with his postgraduate training, Dr. Kritzinger relocated to Phoenix to work at Canyon Ridge Endodontics. Outside of his professional career, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
